The new Kona, at Valley Hyundai, gives buyers plenty of great choices. Choose from either an advanced pure-electric powertrain or a conventional internal combustion engine to motivate your Kona. Hyundai is all about choices and with the Kona for sale, your choices are nearly unlimited!
Historically, auto manufacturers would design a gas-powered vehicle first, followed by an electric or hybrid version at a later date. With the new Kona, Hyundai flipped the equation, designing the EV version first, then turning attentions to the gas-powered model. Once completed, Hyundai then got busy with the other crowd pleasers, the Kona Limited and Kona N Line.
- Hyundai Kona Electric: The Kona Electric, has a range of 197 miles when equipped with the standard Kona EV battery. The optional 64.8-kWh battery is capable of a possible 260 (estimated) miles of range. Designed with Hyundai's quick-charging architecture also found in the Ioniq series of vehicles, it can be recharged rapidly. Current charge times range from 10 to 80 percent in about 45 minutes using 400V charging facilities. As always, depending on driving style and other factors, your mileage may vary.
- Hyundai Kona Limited: Standard Kona power comes from an Atkinson-cycle 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine making 147 horsepower. The Kona Limited builds on that with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine making 190-hp. Both engines include an eight-speed automatic transmission. Buyers of the Kona Limited can order it with either standard front- or optional all-wheel drive.
- Hyundai Kona N Line: The Kona N Line receives the identical 190-hp 1.6-liter turbo engine as found in the Kona Limited. N Line styling is designed more aggressively to appeal to the driving enthusiast. The Kona N Line includes an N Line rear spoiler, body-color cladding, special 19-inch alloy N Line wheels, dual exhaust tips and special sport seats. A Bose audio system and aluminum sport pedals help round out the lineup. An aggressive wing-shaped front and rear fascia define the sport leanings of the N Line.
